(00:00)The western diet is very high in omega 6s. This is due to the use of vegetable oil in most dishes. While omega 6 is an essential fatty acid, too much of a good thing is bad. Really bad in this case. New research has shown a link between a high omega6:omega3 and chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, trauma, surgery, and neuropathic pain. Other research has shown that high omega 6 levels can lead to heart disease, cancer, inflammatory conditions, and autoimmune conditions.
