Bhubaneswar: The low pressure area that has developed in north Andaman sea is going to develop into a depression by tomorrow and by 24th May it is most likely to be converted to a cyclonic storm, informed Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Pradeep Jena, today.
“It will move north-north westerly to hit West Bengal coast or close to West Bengal north Odisha coast or maybe if it moves little right to Bangladesh-anywhere between north Odisha coast and Bangladesh by 26th May,” said Jena in a video message.
Considering this probable cyclone all preparedness action has been initiated at the district level and State level by the various departments, he added.
The SRC said that force deployment has been finalised-22 NDRF teams, 60 formations of 20 ODRAF battalions and 175 Fire Service teams and 35 specialised tree cutting groups will be deployed in cyclone-affected areas.
